Your seed is planted directly into the coco coir and can grow undisturbed until harvest. Simply start adding fertilizer and minerals at an appropriate time. The grow buckets have a bottom layer of perlite to prevent waterlogging and a top layer of bark mulch to prevent the soil from drying out too quickly.
Nutrient uptake efficiency depends directly on root structure. In conventional round pots, the shape often leads to stagnant root-binding, limiting the plant's potential. The square design of the Yard420 Grow Bucket utilizes corners and aeration zones for targeted Air Pruning. The Mechanism: Once a root tip encounters oxygen at the edges or within the lateral air gap, longitudinal growth stops. This trigger breaks the root’s apical dominance and initiates massive lateral branching. A similar effect is achieved in fabric pots through tissue perforation. How it works Seed to Harvest - Water only
Before you start: Remove the tape from the drainage holes at the bottom of the grow bucket to prevent waterlogging. Use the bucket lid as a saucer to catch any excess watering.
Planting the seed: Remove some mulch and place your seed directly in the middle of the bucket. Alternatively, you can use the 2-cotton-pad method. To do this, place the seeds on a moist cotton pad, cover them with a second moist pad, and place them in a sealed container (Ziploc bag or plastic box) in a warm, dark place. After a few days, you will see a small taproot emerge. Carefully insert the seedlings, root tip down and without damaging them, into a 1-2 cm deep indentation in the Baby-Soil of your Yard420 Grow-Bucket or fabric pot. Germination occurs after about 2-9 days. During the first few days, avoid exposing the seedling to direct sunlight all day or provide only moderate light in a grow tent.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist. For the first 10 days after germination, you can use a transparent disposable cup as a mini-greenhouse to maintain high humidity. The pH value of your watering solution should be between 5.8 and 6.5. Start fertilizing at an appropriate time.
Harvest: Your plant grows until harvest without repotting or complicated soil mixing. Simply enjoy!
